Hotel Room Reservations
The 2019 reunion will be held at the DoubleTree by Hilton Airport, Jacksonville, FL. The discounted group room rates are also offered for the three days prior, and three days after the reunion. Room rates are $109.00 per night (plus taxes), which includes a breakfast buffet for up to 2 persons per room, per guest, each day. Breakfast tickets will be provided by the hotel at the time of your hotel check-in—please make sure you receive enough breakfast tickets during check in for each person, each morning of your entire stay.
NOTE: This breakfast perk is for our 6918th guests registered at the DoubleTree/Hilton Jacksonville Airport only!

Early Departure Fee: In the event a guest has reserved a guest room within the group’s block and checks out prior to the guest’s reserved checkout date, an early departure fee of $75.00 will be charged to the guest’s individual credit card. Guests wishing to avoid this fee must advise Hotel at or before check-in of any change in the scheduled length of stay. This fee will be waived in case of medical or family emergency.
Airport Arrival in Jacksonville
After you have landed and collected your luggage, you can call the hotel desk at: 904-741-1997 and select 0 to take advantage of their free airport shuttle service. Give them your name and inform them you are checking in with the 6918th RSM/SS 2019 Reunion. Be sure to tell them the name of your airline. They will advise you where and when you will be picked up, but you’ll probably exit thru door #3 and go to poll #6 for pickup—which will likely be within 20 minutes. It’s then about a 10 minute ride to the hotel.

Jacksonville City Experience Tour – Fri 11/8/19
Come enjoy the history and culture of the largest city in the continental United States! Your professional tour guide meets the group at your hotel for a river city experience that will entertain all your senses. We travel to Downtown to hear the exploits of the city’s namesake, Andrew Jackson, and the famous architects who descended upon the city after the Great Fire of 1901. From the ashes, skyscrapers were built and a banking center emerged with secret underground tunnels. Our first stop to disembark will be at our unique Veterans Memorial Wall to hear the patriotic stories of local heroes. We continue the driving tour past the historic Florida Theatre made famous by Elvis Presley. We watch a classic film clip on the bus which introduces the fun story of how the city emerged as the “First Hollywood” during the silent movie days. The St. Johns River is the perfect backdrop as we travel along the North and South river banks seeing the Jaguar football stadium, St. John’s Cathedral, Friendship Fountain and City Hall. The tour continues in the nearby San Marco neighborhood area past houses with their varied architectural styles that make up the picturesque community along the river. We stop for lunch and free time and offer our famous for chocolate covered popcorn as a tasty dessert. In the afternoon, we stop at a craft brewery a locally produced beer. Your guide creates an interactive tour atmosphere which is fun for everyone.
Price: $56 $51/person. Price includes 56-passenger luxury charter bus, driver, driver gratuity, tour guide, chocolate tasting, cooler of bottled waters, and one beer per person.
Itinerary 10am – 3:45pm (5.75 hours)
9:40 am Motor coach arrives, ready for loading.
10 am Depart for Jacksonville tour with tour guide, sites into Downtown.
10:30 am — Veterans Memorial Wall stop to hear stories of war heroes.
10:50 am – 11:30 am Downtown driving tour and stop at City Hall.
11:30 am – 12 noon San Marco area tour and Treaty Oak.
12 noon – 2 pm San Marco Square for lunch and free time.
1:45 pm – 2:15 pm Chocolate tasting in San Marco Square.
2:15 pm — Load bus
2:30 pm – 3:30 pm Craft brewery stop

St. Augustine Experience – Nation’s Oldest City
Driving Tour – Sun 11/10/19
Enjoy your day in the Nation’s Oldest City! The various architectural styles, narrow brick streets, and European flavors combine for a unique escape. Your professional tour guide meets the group dressed in period costume and weaves a tapestry of stories from the early colonial years to the Victorian Flagler era. The driving tour covers all the major sites including the Fountain of Youth, Castillo de San Marcos (Spanish fort), Spanish Mission Grounds, City Gates, Spanish Plaza, Cathedral-Basilica, Spanish Government House, Flagler Church and Flagler Hotels. The tour includes a stop at the Spanish fort grounds. You will hear stories such as how the Spanish fort was never captured in battle and how they survived under siege from the English attackers. Lunch today is on your own combined with shopping, exploring the historic district, and enjoying the local pubs. Your personal tour guide creates an interactive tour atmosphere which is fun for everyone.
Price: $52 $47/person. Price includes 56-passenger luxury charter bus, driver, driver gratuity, tour guide, National Park Service fee and cooler of bottled waters. Does not include lunch.

9 am — Depart for St. Augustine tour with tour guide, sites along the way.
10:15 am — Restroom break at the St. Augustine Visitors Center
10:25 am – 12 noon St. Augustine tour with fort stop
12 noon – 3 pm – Drop-off at Chatsworth Pub/A1A Ale Works for Lunch and free time on your own.
3 pm – 4:30 pm — Return back to hotel (estimated return time based on traffic).

Since we’re entering our corporate dissolution phase, existing funds not used for 2019 reunion related expenses, as well as any remaining or newly generated funds not designated for expenses or extended website maintenance, will be added to our 2019 charitable donations, and expended before year end 2019. The 6918th Corporation will dissolve with our May 2020 tax filing.
Our dwindling “active” roster, because of our increasing “Fallen Eagle“ roster, and our ages and health issues, have made it increasingly more challenging to keep this all going. If you are unable to attend and would like to support your 6918th RSM/SS endeavor, we will graciously and appreciatively accept your tax deductible donation before the end of 2019. If you are a family member of a “Fallen Eagle” and would care to make a memorial donation, we’ll accept that also. And if you are attending and would still like to make a memorial or cash donation, we can take it—prior to the end of 2019–with any/all of these donations increasing our annual donations amounts, with these donations credited to the specific members.

The way it works…….
At the reunion, we will have items numbered and on display with their own bid sheets. Each person attending will be given their personal bidder number (even if you choose not to bid). To bid, just write your personal bidder number and your bid amount on the bid sheet for that item. Bid sheets are available until 15 minutes prior to the auction closing time.
